Not much news this week
I guess after putting in so many hours last week, I was kind of worn out this week. About all I did was to upload almost all of the files I made last week into my development site, and start to organize the development site. I say "almost" all of my files because I still have not been able to upload one video file (it's a sixteen minute video at 640x480 resolution so the file size is just over 125 meg). I'm sure the problem has to do with the size of the file since it is the largest file I have and everything else loaded just fine. I did discover as part of my attempts at troubleshooting that WebDav will transmit almost twice as much data as the built-in file transfer program with WebCT. (Neither one worked, but WenDav crashed a lot sooner so I wasted less time waiting to see if it would crash at all.) I guess I am going to have to cut the video in half and have the students watch it in segments.
The other activity I did this week was to start organizing the home page. I have set release dates for each button, and changed the button titles so they match the flow of the course next fall (I has messed with this page at the beginning of the current semester since I needed to develop some sites for the "web enhanced" courses I am teaching this Spring.) This weekend I expect to do a lot of work wiring up the new files with the learning modules and adding in the quizzes and discussion boards as needed.
That's about it for this week – I expect to have more to report next week.
